725 Park Avenue (at East 70 Street), NYC

Explore Mongolian culture and epics, experience traditional Mongolian music and dance with artists and scholars from Inner Mongolia. The rhythms and notes dance across lutes, flutes, fiddles and the two-string horse-head violin (morin khuur)—considered Mongolia’s national instrument. Dancers offer the indigenous bielgee while singers share epic songs (tuul’), long chants (urtyn duu) and overtone singing (khoomii). Featuring Morris Rossabi, Alain Desjacques, Josephine Markovits and the musicians and dancers from Inner Mongolia. Presented in conjunction with Lincoln Center Festival 2007 www.LincolnCenter.org.
